Sydney to host World AeroPress Championship

The 2018 World AeroPress Championship season is officially underway with a record high of more than 70 regional events happening across the globe.

This includes 17 regionals AeroPress competitions in Spain, 11 in France, seven in Venezuela and Australia, and six in the United Arab Emirates.

Sydney will host the World AeroPress Championships in November.

Each season now sees more than 3,000 competitors getting involved with 120 regional and national AeroPress events taking place in more than 60 countries.

“We love to see all these extra regional events happening,” says Tim Williams, CEO, World AeroPress Championship. “Travel is expensive, especially for baristas, so we much prefer to see the competitions come to the people, instead of the other way around.”

Each year, the competition expands to new countries, and 2018, Portugal, Qatar, and Croatia are all hosting their first AeroPress Championships.

World AeroPress Championship Co-creator and long-time judge Tim Wendelboe will join forces with Nordic Approach to host the 2018 Norwegian AeroPress Championship.

A complete listing of regional and national competitions, updated weekly, is on the WAC website at http://aero.press/2018-events .

The season concludes on 30 September, with national champions to converge in Sydney in early November to compete for the title of 2018 World AeroPress Champion.
