MICE2019 a ticket to the world

The Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) is like the Australian Open of tournaments – it’s the first major event to kick-off the year, one of the most revered expos on the circuit, and arguably a crowd favourite by exhibitor and attendee standards. Event organisers are encouraging guests to plan their year wisely, starting with the Asia Pacific’s greatest coffee dedicated event, MICE 2019, from 7 to 9 February, before continuing onto the Specialty Coffee Expo in Boston, United States from 11 to 14 April for the World Barista Championship (WBC), and World of Coffee in Berlin, Germany from 8 to 10 June. “Next year is going to be huge,” says MICE Show Director Simon Coburn. “MICE hosts what is already considered a world-class expo, but next year we want to be acknowledged as the first must-attend event on the global coffee calendar.”

NZSCA announces New Zealand Barista Championship 2019 dates

The New Zealand Specialty Coffee Association (NZSCA) has announced that the Meadow Fresh New Zealand Barista Championship 2019 will take place from 2 to 3 February. The competition will be held at the Expressions Whirinaki Arts and Entertainment Centre in Upper Hutt, Wellington.

The Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) has announced that ST. ALi will make a comeback to the latest dedicated event in the Southern Hemisphere, as the event’s official Providore Sponsor. “ST. ALi had a temporary reprieve from MICE while it focused on building strong foundations in its roastery facility, in our personel and at origin, and now we’re back to spread a message,” ST. ALi Founder Salvatore Malatesta says. “We hope that we can improve the culinary landscape of convention centres by bringing a little bit of magic from the ST. ALi laneway to the show.”
