Danes Specialty Coffee and NZ win big at Australian International Coffee Awards

New Zealand coffee reigned supreme at the Australian International Coffee Awards (AICA), taking home five of seven trophies, including Champion International Roaster. Coffee Tech from Auckland, New Zealand was awarded Champion Direct Trade Coffee, Champion Espresso, Champion Milk Based Coffee, and Champion Soy Based Coffee, in addition to the Champion International prize for their aromatic blends.

Judging begins for 2019 Australian International Coffee Awards

More than 800 coffees from 151 Australian and international roasters have been submitted in the 2019 Australian International Coffee Awards (AICA). Judging for the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) competition began on 20 March at the Melbourne Showgrounds. Conducted annually, AICA sees a panel of industry experts congregate, recognising the smoothest, frothiest and most refined local and international coffees. The panel includes roasters, green bean buyers, trainers and educators working in coffee.

Danes Specialty Coffee crowned Champion Australian Roaster

Danes Specialty Coffee in Sydney has won the title of Champion Australian Roaster for the first time in the 2018 Australian International Coffee Awards (AICA), putting New South Wales in the spotlight for outstanding coffee production. “To win an award where we are up against the top roasters from our region is a huge deal for us.
