Nominations for Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) board candidates and must be submitted by 9 October, ahead of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday 12 October at Criteria Coffee in Port Melbourne. The Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place at 5:30pm on 12 October at Criteria Coffee in Port Melbourne. ASCA will livestream the AGM using a platform that will also allow members to vote where appropriate. ASCA says this format will allow inclusivity for all interstate members who can’t make the meeting in person.

ASCA Northern Region Champion Tilly Sproule reveals winning routine

Tilly Sproule of Tim Adams Specialty Coffee has established herself as one of Queensland’s most prominent baristas, having won the Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) Northern Region Barista Championship for four years in a row. “It feels incredible [to win again],” Tilly says. “I feel extremely honoured and proud.” Tilly’s routine on 15 September focused on how to make competitions concepts approachable to customers, such as terroir, coffee flavours and the stories at origin.

Tilly Sproule wins ASCA Northern Region Barista Championship for fourth time

Tilly Sproule of Tim Adams Specialty Coffee has won the Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) Northern Region Barista Championship for the fourth consecutive year. Matthew Philben of Di Bella Coffee placed second and Joshua Robertson of Seven Miles placed third. The event took place at Veneziano Coffee West End in Queensland from 15 to 16 September and also included the ASCA 2019 Northern Region Latte Art, Cup Tasters and Brewers Cup Championships.

First 2019 ASCA Region Championships to take place in Queensland

The 2019 Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) Northern Region Championships will be held at Veneziano Coffee West End in Queensland from 15 to 16 September. The event includes the 2019 Northern Region Barista, Latte Art, Cup Tasters and Brewers Cup Championships. Winners of the four Northern Region Championships will earn a spot in the respective ASCA Australian Championships taking place at the Melbourne International Coffee Expo from 7 – 9 February, 2019.
