The Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) has opened additional spots in the ASCA 2020 Monin Australian Coffee in Good Spirits (CIGS) Championship. Entries close 24 January. The ASCA 2020 Monin Australian CIGS Championship will be held during the ASCA Condesa Co Lab 2020 Australian Coffee Championships at Tasting Australia in Adelaide form 27 to 30 March.

Ona Coffee has announced a line-up of events the roaster will host at stand #63 at the 2019 Melbourne International Coffee Expo from 7 to 9 February. On 7 February from 2pm to 5pm, Ona Coffee will hold tastings of its recent Cascara Cherry Bomb sour beer collaboration with Capital brewing Co. Ona Coffee says Cascara Cherry Bomb is brewed using dried coffee cherries and tastes like cherry pie.

Chanho Hong of Normcore Coffee Roasters will be on hand at the Parmalat Professional stand (#48) at the Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) on 8 February to serve his podium finish-worthy coffee cocktails. Chanho’s Damn Good Cool Cat Irish coffee and his signature Damn Good Shot earned him third place at the 2018 Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) Coffee in Good Spirits championship. Both cocktails use Normcore roasted coffee.

Melbourne Coffee Week kicks off

Melbourne Coffee Week is official underway, with the first of the week-long celebration of coffee events starting with the Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) Coffee In Good Spirits Championship (CIGS). From 6 – 10pm on 10 March, the coffee community is invited upstairs to the Panama Dining Room in Melbourne’s Fitzroy to see baristas creating coffee based cocktails, while enjoying a drink themselves.
