Charlie Chu of St Ali wins ASCA 2020 Southern Region Cup Tasters Championship
Kyoungha “Charlie” Chu of St Ali has won the Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) 2020 Southern Region Cup Tasters Championship with a score of 8/8 in three minutes and six seconds.
Yuki Saito of Addict Food and Coffee placed second with a score of 8/8 in four minutes and four seconds. Sheng-Wei Wu of Cote Terra Coffee Roasters placed third with a score of 8/8 in five minutes and 18 seconds.

Daniel Horbat, the 2019 World Cup Tasters Champion
When Daniel Horbat, Trainer and Consultant of Coffee Laboratory in Dublin, was announced the 2019 Cup Tasters Champion after four years of competing, he felt all his hard work and sacrifice had finally paid off.
“Each year, I felt more motivated to come back stronger than before and I knew that I will only stop until I leave with a trophy,” Daniel says. Part of his success was down to his rigorous training and diet.

World of Coffee crowns new coffee champions
The World of Coffee trade show in Berlin, Germany saw new World Latte Art (WLAC), Coffee in Good Spirits (WCIGS), Cup Tasters, and Cezve/Ibrik Champions crowned on 8 June.
Manuela Fensore of Barlady Café Academy in Italy won the 2019 WLAC. Hao-Yuan Chen of Taiwan placed second and Liu Guoqiang of Sanshierli Academy in China placed third.

NZ Coffee Championships get bigger and better
One big weekend in May saw the NZSCA crown new Cup Tasters and Latte Art Champions in maxed-out competitions.
It felt like only five minutes ago the New Zealand Specialty Coffee Association hosted the Meadow Fresh NZ Barista Championship, and it was already time to start the next leg of the competition season.
First up was the NZ Cup Tasters Championship on 3 May. Ozone Coffee Roasters in Auckland hosted a full field of 32 coffee cuppers, all aiming to accurately and quickly slurp their way through the tasty coffee.

Alan Bruce and Hoony Chae claim NZ Cup Tasters and Latte Art Championship titles
The New Zealand Specialty Coffee Association (NZSCA) has crowned Alan Bruce of Flight Coffee Roasters and Hoony Chae of Mojo Coffee as its new Cup Tasters and Latte Art Champions in competitions held on 3 and 5 May.
In the final round of the NZ Cup Tasters Championship, held at Ozone Coffee Roasters in Auckland, Alan sored a perfect 8/8 in 2.07 minutes.

The New Zealand Specialty Coffee Association (NZSCA) has announced it will hold the 2019 New Zealand Cup Tasters and Latte Art Championships on 3 May and 5 May, respectively.
The 2019 New Zealand Cup Tasters Championship will be held at Ozone Coffee Roasters on 18 Westmoreland Street West, Grey Lynn, Auckland.
