Danny Wilson of Ona Coffee wins Australian CIGS Championship back to back

Danny Wilson has won the 2019 Australian Coffee in Good Spirits (CIGS) Championship, his second Australian CIGS title in a row, at Manly Spirits Co. Distillery in New South Wales on 2 May. Tristan Clark of Soul Origin placed second and William O’Neill of Molly Bar placed third in the Australian Speciality Coffee Association (ASCA) and Monin hosted event.

Danny Wilson is in high spirits following his third-place win at the World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship (CIGS) in November. Following the results, the Ona roaster celebrated with a glass of champagne before attending the official competition after party with his team.  “It’s crazy to think I only [had] about four months’ preparation in total. To end up third with so much talent in the competition is super inspiring. It’s a testament to the quality of Australian specialty coffee,” Danny says.

Ona Coffee announces MICE line-up

On 7 February from 2pm to 5pm, Ona Coffee will hold tastings of its recent Cascara Cherry Bomb sour beer collaboration with Capital brewing Co. Ona Coffee says Cascara Cherry Bomb is brewed using dried coffee cherries and tastes like cherry pie.

In July 2018 I won the Australian Coffee in Good Spirits Championship. For me, this win felt like the culmination of five years of competition.

Ona Coffee adds carbonic maceration coffee to Raspberry Candy

Ona Coffee has announced the addition of carbonic maceration (CM) processed coffee to its signature Raspberry Candy blend. “We have been working on [CM] techniques and processing for several years with our partners at coffee farms around the world,” Ona Coffee Founder Sasa Sestic says. “Last year we saw some incredible results from several of these experimental lots from Ethiopia and we are now looking for every opportunity to share them with our customers.”
