Coffee prices fall again in January after two-month rise
According to the International Coffee Organization (ICO) January 2020 Coffee Market Report, coffee prices fell again in January following a two-month rise.
The ICO composite indicator reversed its gains from December 2019, averaging 106.89 US cents per pound. The daily price of the ICO composite ranged between 99.78 US cents per pound on 29 January and 115.18 US cents per pound on 2 January.

Coffee market prices continue to climb in December
According to the International Coffee Organization (ICO) December 2019 Coffee Market Report, prices for all Arabica indicators rose in December, while Robusta prices decreased 0.1 per cent to 73.22 US cents per pound.
The ICO composite indicator continued to rise in December 2019, ranging between 111.80 and 123.69 US cents per pound. The lowest point was still higher than any of the monthly averages in the previous 18 months.

International coffee prices rally to 12-month high
November 2019 marked the first time in the last 12 months that international coffee prices consistently stayed over 100 US cents per pound, according to the International Coffee Organization (ICO) Composite Indicator.
The monthly average of the indicator rose 10.1 per cent to 107.23 US cents per pound amid expectations of a global deficit in coffee year 2019/20, estimated at 502,000 bags.

Global coffee production to decrease in 2019/20
In its October 2019 market report, the International Coffee Organization (ICO) projects that world coffee production will decrease in coffee year 2019/20.
Production is estimated at 167.4 million 60-kilogram bags, 0.9 per cent lower than the prior year. Arabia output is expected to decrease by 2.7 per cent to 95.68 million bags, while Robusta production is expected to rise by 1.5 per cent to 71.72 million bags.

July coffee prices reach 2019-high despite downward drift
According to the International Coffee Organization (ICO) July 2019 market report, the monthly average of the ICO composite indicator rose by three per cent to 103.01 US cents per pound in July 2019. This marks the highest monthly average since November 2018.
However, the daily composite indicator started at a high of 107.87 US cents (about $152.43) per pound on 4 July and fell to 98.57 US cents per pound by the end of the month.

Coffee prices reach newest low in more than a decade
In April 2019, the International Coffee Organization (ICO) composite indicator fell by 3.2 per cent to 94.42 US cents per pound, the lowest monthly average since July 2006 when the price reached 88.57 US cents per pound.
The daily price fell to 91.79 US cents per pound on 17 April, the lowest it had been since 1 August 2006 when it hit 88.77 US cents per pound.
The ICO says prices for all group indicators fell in April 2019.

ICO reports 13-year low coffee prices
In March 2019, the International Coffee Organization (ICO) composite indicator fell by 3.1 per cent to 97.50 US cents per pound, the lowest monthly average of coffee prices since October 2006, when the price was 95.53 US cents per pound.
The ICO reports that price movements for all group indicators have fallen, contributing to the low composite indicator.
