Leo DiCaprio and Jared Leto invest in Califia Farms 

Celebrities including Leonardo DiCaprio, Jared Leto, Karlie Kloss and Shaun White have become offical stakeholders in plant-based beverage company Califia Farms, which secured more than US$50 million in funding on 31 July. The Californian-based company recently launched its range of ready-to-drink almond milk and cold brew coffee beverages in Australia, providing consumers with a healthy, plant-powered alternative to traditional beverages. The new investors comprise a group of actors, musicians, professional athletes and supermodel entrepreneurs who support the values of a plant-based lifestyle.

Louis Dreyfus Co donates US$50K to World Coffee Research

Global agricultural goods merchant Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) has announced a US$50,000 donation (about A$64,500) to World Coffee Research (WCR) to boost coffee sustainability and support coffee farmers. WCR is a non-profit collaborative research and development program of the global coffee industry to grow, protect, and enhance supplies of quality coffee while improving the livelihoods of the families who produce it.
