Matthew Lewin of Ona Coffee has won the seventh Fushan Barista Cup in Hainan, China Matthew used a similar routine to the one he presented at the 2018 Australian Specialty Coffee Association National Barista Championship Final. Ona to serve WBC-winning coffee at Marrickville

Saša Šestić announces sequel to The Coffee Man

Ona Coffee Founder and 2015 World Barista Champion Saša Šestić has announced a sequel to his award-winning documentary film The Coffee Man. The Coffee Man film, which first screened in 2016 and won Best Australian Documentary at the 2016 Melbourne Documentary Film Festival, followed Saša on his journey to winning the World Barista Championship in 2015. To date, The Coffee Man has screened in over 200 venues in more than 40 countries, and has been translated in 11 languages.

Ona Coffee Marrickville to feature frozen coffee menu

Ona Coffee Marrickville is set to open its doors on Saturday 26 in Sydney, with frozen coffee on the menu.  The space will house offices, a training facility and an espresso bar featuring frozen doses of coffee. Freezing coffee is increasing in popularity in the specialty coffee world, with the majority of the finalists of the 2017 World Barista Championships incorporating frozen coffee into their performances.

Heath Dalziel – 2018 ASCA Australian Brewers Cup Champion 

It was first time lucky for Heath Dalziel, owner of Third Time Lucky café in Adelaide, to take out the 2018 ASCA Australian Brewers Cup.  Heath was seventh seeded going into the national competition, as the winner of the Western Region Brewers Cup that took place in Adelaide last year. This is impressive success for someone who was coaxed into competing by his supplier, Ona Coffee, two months before the regional event.

Our roasters are commended for the quality of filter roasts through various competitions and increasingly, customers are interested in understanding what specialty brews are, as well as making and drinking them. As such, there’s no reason Australia can’t be considered among the top tier of coffee brewing nations.
