Melbourne Coffee Week day two to include cold brew masterclass and more

Day two of Melbourne Coffee Week, 5 February, will see three coffee industry events held in the lead up to the 2019 Melbourne International Coffee Expo from 7 to 9 February. From 9am until 10am, Rumble Coffee Roasters and First Press Coffee will partner to host a cold brew and cold drip masterclass at Rumble’s Kensington roastery.

On 4 February, Minas Hill Coffee will bring together prominent people from within the coffee industry for a one-night-only panel to discuss current projects and initiatives in Brazil.  Our farmers, Our heroes: A panel discussion about sustainability, transparency and women in coffee will touch on topics ranging from the international coffee price, processing and economics to social projects, the environment, and the role of women in coffee.

Minas Hill Coffee celebrates International Coffee Day with Brazilian event

To celebrate International Coffee Day, the Consulate General of Brazil in Sydney hosted a business breakfast for industry members on 3 October at Australian Museum in Sydney. The event was in the partnership with Apex Brazil, the Brazil Specialty Coffee Association (BSCA) and Minas Hill Coffee. On arrival, guest sampled coffees from Brazilian farms including Santo Antonio, Bahia and Vertentes, roasted and served by DC Specialty Coffee in Melbourne. Read More

Lavazza chooses Australia for new product launch

Due to a growing demand for organic coffee, the Lavazza Group has selected Australia to be the first market in the world to launch its new Tierra bio-organic beans, a new product for the Tierra brand. Nielsen data reveals Australians are the highest consumers of organic coffee in terms of value share in the world, sitting at 12.8 per cent. Denmark comes close second at 11.6 per cent, Canada at 11 per cent, with the US trailing at 2.3 per cent.
