Russia reclaims World Coffee Roasting Championship trophy

Arseny Kuznetov of Traveler’s Coffee in Russia has won the 2019 World Coffee Roasting Championship, held at the Taiwan International Coffee Show in November. Bogdan Georgescu of Coffeeville Roastery in Romania placed second, and Mateusz Karczweski of Audun Coffee – Norwegian Roast in Poland placed third.

World Coffee Roasting Championship 2019 heads to Taiwan

World Coffee Events (WCE) confirmed that the World Coffee Roasting Championship (WCRC) will take place in Taipei from 15 to 18 November at the 2019 Taiwan International Coffee Show (TICS). More than 20 competitors from across the globe will gather to compete in a series of rounds covering multiple styles of roasting.

World Coffee Events makes 2018 competition rule changes

Gender-neutral language and competitor qualification explanations are some of the “minor” rules and regulation changes World Coffee Events (WCE) has released for the 2018 World Brewers Cup, World Cup Tasters and World Coffee Roasting Championships. Released on 14 June, WCE says the final changes for this year’s world competitions have been made to “keep them consistent with other competition documents”.

Jack Allisey of Veneziano Coffee climbs to the top

Jack Allisey has done what no other Australian has done before – place second at the World Coffee Roasting Championship (WCRC).  Before the ASCA Australian Coffee Championships in 2017, Australia didn’t have a national roasting competition, or a representative at the WCRC, which has been running since 2013.
