While quality is the highest priority for most Australian coffee roasters, it’s no longer enough to stand out in the crowd. The face of a roaster is on the bag, and as such, the packaging is a core part of a roaster’s brand and commercial success.

This paper discusses the role of packaging in the coffee industry, and the benefits a roaster will see from distinctive bag branding, with particular focus on the experience of Little Italy Coffee Roasters with their planned roll out of specialty coffee bags through packaging partner The Bag Broker.
