Toby’s Estate will host a Brew Masters competition on 30 March at its Flinders Lane store.
Registered participants will go up against two-time World Barista Championship finalist Charlotte Malaval in this knock-out competition, and test their brew skills using Acaia’s new Brewguide App.
Charlotte will set the recipe in the Acaia App, and competitors will perform a V60 Pour Over brewing replication to get as close as they can to matching the recipe.
Competitors will be judged on aroma, flavour, aftertaste, acidity, body, balance, and the overall tasting qualities of the brewed coffee.
The Brew Masters Challenge is a chance for competing baristas to win a La Marzocco Linea Mini and an Acaia prize pack. Acaia prizes will also be awarded for second and third place.
The event is at full capacity for competitors, but guests are welcome to watch the night of brew mastery and enjoy beats and light eats with Toby’s Estate and Acaia, including Founder Rex Tseng.
