Tyro offers six-month free trial to café customers

Australia’s business bank and payment solution provider Tyro is offering café owners a six-month free EFTPOS (electronic funds transfer at point of sale) terminal rental for eligible businesses who sign up to the system by 30 April.

With no lock-in contract, customised solutions and competitive rates, Tyro has appealed to more than 20,000 Australian businesses who use its systems.

“Café owners have enough on their minds running their own business. Not only do we want to simplify their payments experience, making it easier and more seamless, we also want to take the hassle out of switching payments providers. With our six months’ free terminal rental offer and with no lock-in contract, café owners can easily trial Tyro and see for themselves the benefits we can provide to their business,” says Nelson Cox, Hospitality Lead at Tyro.

“Tyro’s goal is to give café owners one less thing to worry about.”

Dedicated to the business banking needs of small and medium enterprises, Tyro has the interests of small and medium-sized enterprises at its core with customers including Bean Haus, Hype, Westfield, Sun Doctors, and Gloria Jean’s Coffees.

“I got into the business to make coffee. Not to mess around with EFTPOS machines and computers. Tyro just works so I can work,” says Nicholas Retsas of Bean Haus café in Redfern.

Muffin Break General Manager Natalie Brennan says the system has helped its franchise customers increase their speed of service.

“Because EFTPOS is integrated into the point of sale, it’s a much faster transaction. It also means that customer service isn’t double handling, and leading to less error,” Natalie says. “[Most importantly], our customer-facing staff can focus on the relationship with the customer in front of them, rather than a transaction.”

Tyro’s mobile EFTPOS machines come with built-in pay-at-the-table functionality and allow customers to easily split bills.

“[It’s] a real ‘must have’ piece to have in your business,” says Andrew Thomas of The Oaks Hotel.
