Vietnam Cafe Show to host national barista championship

After a successful debut in 2016, the second Vietnam international Cafe Show will take place in Ho Chi Minh City from 2 – 4 March.

Exporum, which has organised the Seoul International Cafe Show since 2002, will host the exhibition in the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center in what’s become one of Vietnam’s leading coffee events.

In May 2016, the first Vietnam Cafe Show was successfully held and attracted 76 participants from nine countries and more than 18,000 visitors from 12 countries. As a result, it received an 80 per cent exhibitor approval rating and became a high-performing business exhibition in Vietnam.

This year, Vietnam Cafe Show will bring together eight countries and 70 businesses as a multi-platform for coffee, tea, beverage, bakery, raw material, machine and equipment, dessert, café interior, franchise and start-up businesses.

In conjunction with the event, the Vietnam National Barista Championship (VNBC) will determine the best barista in Vietnam. The winner of VNBC will become Vietnam’s representative at the 2017 World Barista Championship, which will be held as a concurrent event at Seoul Int’l Cafe Show 2017.

Various special events will also take place during the exhibition period, including Cherry’s Choice, a Coffee Training Station, Sweet Class, and a New Year Crop Ceremony, where visitors will have a chance to try high quality coffee harvested from the New Year Crop.
