The Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) is seeking volunteers to support the 2018 Australian Coffee Championships, taking place at the Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE).
Volunteers who love all things coffee, want experience in event management, or to find out what goes behind the scenes at a national event, are encouraged to apply.
Volunteers will be responsible for a range of duties including ticketing, assisting with exhibitor and visitor enquires, and helping with the running of the Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) National Coffee Championships.
The national competitions are ASCA’s highlight event of the year, bringing together the country’s top coffee talent. Volunteers will get a chance to work up close and personal with the best baristas around, with a close-up look at their competitions. Such voluntary positions will include runners, timekeepers, station monitors and backstage and onstage runners.
Volunteer baristas are also needed for judges calibration, and the roasting competition, ASCA’s newest addition to the competition lineup.
Volunteers play a huge role in ensuring the event runs smoothly.
Anyone interested should apply at australianspecialtycoffee.com.au/volunteering/
MICE is taking place from 22 to 24 March 2018.
In its seventh year, MICE is known throughout the Asia Pacific as one of the largest and most exciting dedicated coffee events. Almost 10,000 café owners, roasters, baristas, equipment manufacturers, service providers and more flock to this event annually, in what has become the must-attend event for the industry.
