Volunteers needed for the ASCA 2020 Southern Region Coffee Championship

The Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) is seeking volunteers to support the 2020 Southern Region Coffee Championship.

The ASCA 2020 Southern Region Coffee Championship will take place from 26 to 27 October at ST ALi’s Port Melbourne roastery.

Volunteers who love all things coffee, want experience in event management, or to find out what goes behind the scenes at a national event, are encouraged to apply.

As well as scorekeepers, timers, runners, servers, and cleaners during the competition, baristas are needed on 25 October to help with judges calibration. Being a calibration barista is a great way for non-competitors to receive feedback from barista competition judges.

ASCA has been asked to recommend volunteers for the World Barista Championship and World Brewers Cup in Melbourne next year and volunteering at a regional competition is a pre-requisite for this recommendation.

Volunteering at ASCA competitions is also an opportunity to get up close and personal with your favourite baristas, and network in the coffee industry.

If you are interested, please email ethan.miller@primecreative.com.au, letting him know your availability, contact number, and preferred volunteer position.
