Wacaco releases new Picopresso portable espresso brewer

Picopresso

Portable coffee maker manufacturer Wacaco has released its most compact, travel friendly espresso machine, the Picopresso.

Based off the brands piston-driven technology that is seen in Wacaco’s earlier products including the Nanopresso and Minipresso, the Picopresso is a manual espresso machine with a naked portafilter and stainless-steel filter basket.

The naked portafilter allows users to see the espresso flowing directly from the 52-millimetre, 18-gram filter basket into their cups during the brewing process.

Fitting into users’ hands, the machine’s design and capabilities mirror that of a high-quality café machine.

The Picopresso has “no shortcuts,” with each brewer having to master manual espresso techniques including dialling in the correct grind size, tamping, and the correct pulling technique.

Hugo Cailleton, Co-Founder of Wacaco says, “The world of manual home espresso enthusiasts is growing, and Wacaco is positioned to be at the forefront of this movement. Our machines have enabled millions of our customers to adventure and brew remotely in some amazing locations.”

According to Wacaco, this new product is dedicated to elevating and extracting the essence of each coffee bean, with the Picopresso giving home baristas the opportunity to master the scientific and artful aspects of espresso making.

Founded in Hong Kong by Hugo Cailleton and Jessie Wang in 2013, Wacaco Company has continued to grow as a portable coffee machine manufacturer.
