Plant-based milk brand Milklab is partnering with World Barista Champions Mikael Jasin and Anthony Douglas for coffee collaborations and global events.
As part of the collaborations, Mikael and Anthony will represent Milklab on the world stage at coffee events across Asia, curating specialty coffee beverages using Milklab’s plant-based products.
Mikael is the 2024 World Barista Champion and 2019 Indonesian Barista Champion. An Indonesian native, Mikael’s coffee journey began in Melbourne in 2012 where he headed up some of the city’s busiest cafés.
“I am passionate about creating coffee moments that are memorable. Working with Milklab is an exciting opportunity, and I’m looking forward to taking coffee experiences with barista plant-based milks to a new level,” says Mikael.
Meanwhile, Anthony is the 2022 World Barista Champion and is the first Australian to take the championship title in seven years. Today, Anthony shares his knowledge and skills as a coach for baristas chasing the title of World Barista Champion.
“I’ve been working in the coffee industry for over a decade, and I love pushing the boundaries to achieve an exceptional coffee drinking experience,” says Anthony.
“I know Milklab’s range has been developed through ongoing collaboration with baristas, so I’m excited to be working with them to showcase the exceptional quality of the range and demonstrate how Milklab barista milks pair perfectly with specialty coffee.”
Noumi’s Milklab Marketing Manager Natalie Latimore says that the partnership with Mikael and Anthony is a testament to the brand’s recognition as a leading plant-based range.
“We are very excited to partner with Mikael and Anthony, they are both highly respected and world-renowned coffee experts,” says Natalie.
“Working with them as advocates for our brand helps us to connect with baristas on a global scale to showcase Milklab’s superior performance ensuring consumers will enjoy an elevated coffee experience when they order a coffee or café beverage with Milklab.”
Anthony represented Milklab at the Lujiazui Coffee Festival in China in October 2024, the International Café Show in Seoul in November 2024, and is set to host a series of Milklab workshops in Bali from 25 to 29 November 2024.
Mikael will showcase his new coffee creations using Milklab milks at Thaifex in Thailand in March 2025.
