World Coffee Events has released travel tips and recommendations for those attending the 2018 Brazil World Coffee Championships, taking place in Belo Horizonte from 7 to 9 November.
The event, as part of Brazil International Coffee Week, will host the World Brewers Cup, World Latte Art, World Coffee in Good Spirits, and World Cup Tasters Championships.
World Coffee Events offers the following advice:
- Australians require a visa for entry into Brazil. Find out more information on visa application by visiting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website. For invitation letters, contact Brazil International Coffee Week by emailing contact@internationalcoffeeweek.com.br
- Depending on how extensive your travel is, there are likely to be a number of vaccinations you will need. World Coffee Events recommends discussing these with your physician well in advance of departure to ensure you are covered.
- Expect temperatures between 19°C to 28°C in springtime, with an average of 227 millimetres of precipitation spread over 14 days. Clima Tempo is a good Brazilian resource to check for weather updates.
- The official voltage in Belo Horizonte and most south westerly states is 127 volts (V) at 60 hertz (Hz). Some commercial facilities such as hotels also offer 220V at 60 Hz. You can find the lower voltage in white sockets, with 220V in red sockets. The official socket is type N, but type C is also used in Brazil.
World Coffee Events estimates 17,000 coffee professionals will take part in Brazil International Coffee Week.
