The Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) Northern Region Coffee Championships will take place from 8 – 9 October.
Held at Extraction Artisan Coffee in Slacks Creek, Queensland, this is the second regional competition for the 2017 competition season.
The Sunshine State’s best baristas will battle-it-out with Northern Territory competitors for a place in the Australian Nationals, taking place at the Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) from 30 March to 1 April 2017.
Participants will compete in the barista and latte art events on Saturday 8 October, and brewers cup and cup tasters on Sunday 9 October.
Winners will be announced at the end of the competition day with competitors debrief to follow.
Competition registration closes 5 October at 5pm.
A competitor briefing will take place at the host venue on Friday 7 October at 4.30pm for participants to familiarise themselves with the space provided, have questions answered and meet the head judges.
