Sustainable packaging company BioPak has launched its ‘Give Back Friday’ campaign, a take on Black Friday sales featuring discounts and charity donations.

The campaign, available until 27 December 2024, offers more than 50 per cent off Black Paper BioStraws, with $12.50 of every carton sold donated to Rainforest Rescue, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to protecting and restoring rainforests. Each purchase will provide funds to plant and maintain one native tree.

BioPak CEO Gary Smith emphasised the importance of giving back to the community, encouraging businesses to match or beat BioPak’s donation.

“This new campaign offers a great opportunity to not only provide a fantastic discount to our customers, but a chance to really make a difference to Rainforest Rescue, a charity that is doing amazing things for our planet and future generations,” says Gary.

“We urge our customers to match or beat our donation of $12.50 for every carton sold, an act that can help plant one tree. While seemingly small, the significant impact of each tree has a huge knock-on effect in repairing damaged rainforests, sequestering carbon and enhancing the biodiversity of a range of wildlife. It is our hope that we can plant up to 1600 trees throughout this campaign, and that our wider community can participate and get involved.”

Rainforest Rescue CEO Branden Barber says the campaign is an example of how Black Friday sales can be used as a force for good.

“We are incredibly proud to work with our long-standing partners, BioPak, in what is a unique twist to the current Black Friday Sales,” he says.

“Our impact and work are not possible without the generous support of businesses, truthfully. Businesses have fuelled our growth in protecting and restoring the rainforest. We are extremely grateful to all who can help match or beat BioPak’s pledge over the coming month.”

Black BioStraws can be purchased via the BioPak website.
