Campos Coffee has won the Australian International Coffee Awards (AICA) Champion Australian Roaster award for a second time running.

“It is a great honour to be named Champion Australian Roaster at AICA. As a company highly motivated by quality, we are delighted to have won this award and see it as testament to our incredible team of roasters and our extended global family of passionate producers, farmers and suppliers at origin,” says Lloyd Thom, Campos Coffee Green Bean Buyer.

Campos was also awarded a Best in Class Trophy for ‘Best Immersion Coffee – Single Origin’, for its yet to be released Colombia Santa Monica coffee.

“Santa Monica is the first of its kind for our coffee program and will be released as the opening instalment of our upcoming ‘Lab Series’ showcasing all things innovative, boundary bending and educational in the world of specialty coffee,” says Lloyd.

Established in 2013, the annual competition run by Melbourne Royal celebrates excellence and attracts entries from more than 180 exhibitors from across Australia and around the world.

Entries are judged by a panel of knowledgeable industry experts who recognise and celebrate the highest levels of craftsmanship in local and international coffee roasting. The panel includes distinguished roasters, green bean buyers, trainers, and educators working in the specialty coffee scene and submissions are independently judged and awarded.

The AICA awards have been won by Campos during a milestone 20th anniversary year, with a third flagship café location to open in South Yarra, Melbourne, in November 2022.

“These awards mean a lot and we share this success not only with our coffee producing friends, sourcing and roasting teams, but also with our wonderful cafe partners who choose to proudly serve Campos to their local communities every day,” says Edward Dereham, Head of Wholesale at Campos Coffee.

“An award like this just reinforces our team’s commitment to coffee excellence as we continue on our mission to help more people love great coffee as much as we do.”

Campos Coffee’s blends can be enjoyed in one of its Campos Flagship Cafés in Newtown, NSW and Newstead, QLD, with a Campos Cafe partner, or can be purchased online.
