Coles Group has reported “continued inflation across categories impacted by higher coffee and cocoa prices” in its 2025 Third Quarter Sales Results report.
The report revealed costs across Coles’ overall grocery range increased 1.5 per compared to the same period last year.
Covering the 12 weeks from 6 January to 30 March 2025, the Q3 results revealed total Group revenue rose 3.4 per cent to more than $10.3 billion.
Increasing cost of the Coles Simply value range coffee beans is indicative of the continuing rising price of coffee products. When they were released in 2024, the beans were available for $13 per kilo. At the time of writing, they are available for $15 per kilo. This means the cost of Coles Simply coffee beans has increased over 15 per cent in less than 12 months.
Coles Group CEO Leah Weckert says she is proud of the business’ overall performance in the face of significant challenges.
“We are pleased to have delivered another solid quarter of sales growth, particularly as we were cycling a very strong third quarter in FY24,” Weckert says.
“These results reflect continued investments we are making in value and in improving the shopping experience for our customers both in store and online.
“At the same time, we faced a number of major weather events including Cyclone Alfred and flooding in Far North Queensland. Despite the difficult conditions, our team members came together to help ensure out local communities had access to essential food and grocery supplies throughout these events.”
