Toby’s Estate’s Octobysfest Local Legends 2024 competition has recognised the cafés that go above and beyond in their communities.

The competition, which saw coffee lovers from across the country vote for their favourite cafés in October 2024, highlights the dedication of café teams and their resilience, hard work, and commitment to providing exceptional experiences.

“We generally wait until it’s too late to tell or recognise what a legend someone is,” Toby’s Estate said in a statement.

“That’s not cool. We’re about recognition where recognition is due and so wanted to tell you, we think you’re a bloody legend and you’re doing an amazing job in some pretty tough times.”

The 2024 Local Legends winners are:

NSW:

  • Hippos Espresso
  • Soul Brew Cafe
  • Dad and the Frog
  • Caffeine Hit

QLD:

  • Frankies Woombye
  • Bfresh Cafe
  • Little Black Pug
  • VK Everydays

SA:

  • Soul Brew Coffee
  • Revival Coffee
  • Bread and Butter
  • The Nest Espresso Bar

WA:

  • Engine Room Espresso
  • Stella Coffee House
  • Birue Cafe Booragoon
  • Finlay and Sons

VIC:

  • Local Folk
  • Grind Coffee Bar – Sunshine
  • Coffee Escape
  • Third Wheel Highett

Gabriella’s at the Grove in New South Wales was awarded the grand prize of a trip to Italy, thanks to La Marzocco Australia.

“A big shout out to our sponsors La Marzocco Australia, Visit Seattle, Chai Me | Cocoda, The Alternative Dairy Co. and Joco Cups for the support and epic prizes,” Toby’s Estate said. “And of course, a huge thank you to all the coffee lovers who voted for their Local Legend. The bar’s been set high for Octobysfest 2025.”
