Selling a top-notch pie is often the litmus test for any café or bakery. Whether it be regional, metropolitan, or anywhere in between, Australia is a nation of pie lovers.

In such a competitive landscape, being recognised as the best of the best is no easy feat, but Miss Amelie Gourmet Pies is continuing to place its name among Australia’s baking elite with its award-winning range.

Since being founded in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Miss Amelie Gourmet Pies has quickly risen to be a recognisable player in the Australian pie industry and sends its stock to cafés and hospitality venues across the country.

Based out of its flagship Albury-Wodonga location, its state-of-the-art kitchen is led by Head Chef Francis Iudica, whose award-winning skills have turned the business’ pies into award winners in their own right.

Under his guidance, the company’s Chinese BBQ Pork Belly gourmet pie was named Best Gourmet Pie at The Official Great Aussie Pie Competition 2022.

Since then, Miss Amelie Gourmet’s extensive range has continued to rack up awards, with the business claiming a further 14 medals – eight bronze, five silver and one gold – at the recent 2024 edition of the competition.

Francis, who took up a role with the business in 2022, says the continued recognition of the quality of the Miss Amelie Gourmet Pies range is a testament to the hard work of the team.

“When we arrived at Miss Amelie Gourmet Pies, there were existing recipes, but we decided to make the recipes our own,” Francis says.

“All pies are made by hand with locally sourced premium protein and vegetables, with no added sugar, seed oils, preservatives, artificial fillers, or colours. This has proved to be our recipe for success.”

Miss Amelie Gourmet has gone from strength to strength with its suite of national awards. It now features a trio of café locations in Albury, Wodonga, and Beechworth, while also operating outlets at Prahan and Queen Victoria Markets in Melbourne.

Its available product range spans 15 pie delights, from unique and creative recipes like its now-famous Chinese BBQ Pork Belly pie to the Tasmanian Scallop and Prawn Mornay pie, and the Moroccan Style Slow Cooked Goat pie.

Francis and the Miss Amelie Gourmet team don’t forget the classics though and also offer long-time pie-fan favourites Beef Cheek and Red Wine, or Classic Steak and Onion Gravy.

As a wholesaler, Miss Amelie Gourmet Pies can provide a refrigerated logistics delivery service to Melbourne, subject to location. Those interested in becoming a Miss Amelie Gourmet Pie stockist can fill out a form here.
