Grinders Cold Brew hits Woolworths stores

Grinders Coffee is bringing cold brew from behind the counters of boutique cafés and into the mainstream this summer with the nationwide launch of its Cold Brew.

Available in more than 600 Woolworths stores nationwide, coffee lovers can expect a pure, smooth-tasting Colombian single origin with intense notes of rich chocolate and hazelnut.

“By using a cold brew method and avoiding exposure to intense heat, cold brew has a much lower bitterness and acidity (than coffee typically prepared via an espresso machine) making it perfect to enjoy cold,” says Andy Easthope, Grinders’ Head Coffee Educator.

“Grinders Cold Brew is best served straight up, over ice or, for a creamier taste, with a dash of milk – whether it be regular, almond, coconut or soy,” he says.

Cold brew isn’t simply cold drip. The beans are roasted and ground like a typical coffee but instead of using heat to extract the beans’ flavour as you would with an espresso or other hot coffee brew, Grinders uses time – eight hours of it – and filtered water.

“It’s a gentle extraction,” Andy explains. “It brings out different flavours and unique notes and it really does remove most of the acidity. There are no added preservatives – just 100 per cent coffee extract and purified water.”

Available in 300-millilitre glass bottles, Grinders Cold Brew contains six 50-millilitre serves per bottle.

It is made from 100 per cent Colombian Single Origin coffee with no added sugar or preservatives. Thanks to its unique production process, unlike other offerings, Grinders Cold Brew has a 12-month shelf life and can be kept refrigerated for seven days once opened. As a fresh product containing naturally occurring oils, shaking before consumption is recommended.

Grinders Cold Brew (RRP $8.99 per 300-millilitre bottle) can be found in the coffee aisle, next to Grinders coffee beans. Its intense flavour makes it perfect for a range of occasions. For recipe inspiration, check out grinderscoffee.com.au
