Melbourne-based graphic designer, Victoria Na, has been selected as the winner of the 2016 Huhtamaki Cup Design Competition.

Huhtamaki and Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) joined forces to give designers the chance to create the official MICE2016 cup, which will be used by cafés during Melbourne Coffee Week, and exhibitors at MICE.

Victoria says she screamed when she found out she was the winner.

“I just couldn’t believe it. It felt so surreal,” Victoria says. “I contacted my close friends and family right away – I couldn’t contain my excitement.”

Victoria’s cup design was inspired by Melbourne’s unique café culture and latte art.

“I love my mochaccinos. I have always been intrigued by the perfection and finesse of latte art design,” Victoria says.

Huhtamaki is a global specialist in food and drink packaging and a Platinum Sponsor of MICE2016.

“We understand that packaging is about so much more than what goes into a product. It’s about building a brand. It’s for this reason that we wanted to support MICE2016 and encourage the development of designers through this unique competition. We’re really excited by the outcome and what Victoria’s design represents,” said Andre Chan, Huhtamaki Product Manager.

MICE is taking place at the Melbourne Showgrounds from 17 – 19 March.
