Reusable coffee cup brand Huskee has been announced as the official cup sponsor of Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) 2024. As part of its role, the Australian brand will provide reusable cups for the whole event to reduce single-use waste.

“Huskee is thrilled to be back at the MICE this year. As the Official Cup Sponsor, we’re excited to connect with fellow coffee enthusiasts and showcase our commitment to sustainability,” says Huskee Head of Sales & Marketing Michael McFarlane.

“We’ll be providing HuskeeCups as a free alternative to single-use cups for all exhibitors, making the Expo more sustainable than ever before. Exhibitors can enquire through the MICE portal for more information.”

The annual gathering of coffee fans and industry professionals will take place from 12 to 14 May at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. MICE serves as a vital platform to bring together café owners, roasters, equipment producers, services providers and more, and in 2023 received over 11,000 visitors.

Highlights of the three-day event include the Australia’s Richest Barista competition, in which baristas battle it out for their share of a $40,000 cash prize, Australia’s Favourite Coffee competition to crown the country’s best beans, and the MICE Product Innovation Awards.

“We’re brewing up something special for MICE 2024,” says Michael. “Not only are we offering free HuskeeCups to exhibitors to reduce single-use cup waste, but we’re also unveiling our brand new HuskeeSteel: a reusable cup crafted from a whopping 91 per cent recycled steel.”

The HuskeeSteel is the latest release in Huskee’s line-up of sustainable reusable cups. The original HuskeeCup was launched in 2017 following a hugely successful crowd-sourcing campaign which sought to craft reusable cups from discarded coffee husks.
