Locale Coffee Roasters and Genovese Coffee will collaborate to host the Mazzer ZM Filter Cup competition in Melbourne on 14 November.
The event will commence at 5:30pm at Locale Coffee Roasters’ venue in Abbotsford and will include food trucks, music, and drinks.
Competitors will have seven minutes to grind, brew, and serve their coffee to be eligible for a chance to win a Mazzer ZM grinder.
Contestants will perform at the bar, which will be setup with four Mazzer ZM grinders and kettles filled with filtered water. They are required to supply their own brewing kits.
Prior to the event, competitors can organise practice sessions of 20 to 30 minutes.
A panel of experienced industry judges will adjudicate the event, including 2018 Australian Roasting Champion Ben Toovey, 2016 United Kingdom Brewers Cup Champion Jeremy Challender, and Authorised Specialty Coffee Association Trainer Simon James.
Competition entry is $75 and spectator tickets are priced at $5.
