Over three days, more than 31,000 attendees and 130 exhibitors gathered in Melbourne to celebrate Australia’s vibrant coffee industry and café culture at Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE).

From 20 to 22 March, MICE2025 welcomed record-breaking crowds to the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre for three days of caffeinated thrills and spills. Queues snaked around the exhibition floor and coffee lovers crowded around stands as roasters served signature drinks, baristas hosted latte art workshops, and equipment manufacturers showcased new equipment.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to have welcomed 31,700 attendees to MICE, smashing previous numbers including MICE2022 when we hosted the World Barista Championship, ” says Lauren Chartres, MICE Show Director.

“The energy in the room has been amazing. The coffee industry is built on community and it’s been inspiring to see so many people from around Australia and the world meeting old friends and new over a fantastic cup of coffee.”

The international event saw exhibitors from right across the coffee world, including companies from Costa Rica, Nepal, Indonesia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Brazil, China, Japan, Italy, and Spain.

Another highlight was the Roasters Playground, supported by La Marzocco, Riverina Fresh, and MILKLAB, which saw 40 coffee roasters showcase their best coffees from Thursday to Saturday. From veteran brands to up-and-coming coffee stars, the new section of the show attracted crowds of coffee fans.

In attendance at the show on Saturday 22 March was Victoria’s Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos. A coffee lover who previously owned and ran a local café, Minister Dimopoulos encouraged coffee aficionados to make the most of the stacked program on offer at the 2025 event.

“This is my first time attending and I’m definitely coming back. You get your coffee fix in every aspect of coffee culture,” said Minister Dimopoulos.

“This is extraordinary. From the manufacturers and machines to the roasters to the consumers to the podcasters, it’s literally a meeting of world coffee lovers right here at in Melbourne.”

Following the success of MICE2025, organisers have announced MICE2026 will take place 26 to 28 March 2026. Stands are available to book now, interested parties can find details on the Melbourne International Coffee Expo website.
