Five Senses Coffee is shifting part of its model away from roasting coffee for the first time after 25 years of operation, and is gearing up to open its very first café.

The new espresso bar, Five Senses Espresso – located at 1/114 New Canterbury Road, Petersham – was born out of the brand’s search for a new home for the Five Senses Barista Academy, but the team discovered a prime space in Petersham with a café attached.

Opening on Monday 17 November, the new café will serve Five Senses’ Dark Horse blend alongside limited release coffees, and a grab-and-go menu featuring pastries from Organic Bread Bar.

The Barista Academy will be attached to the venue and will host professional training and cupping sessions for professional baristas and coffee enthusiasts.

Following the opening, Five Senses will also host a Free Coffee Day on Friday 28 November.

Five Senses Coffee was started by Founder Dean Gallagher after being a school principal in Papua New Guinea’s Simbu Province, after which he started the business a 1kg roaster in Perth.
