Ewan Kim of Camper Coffee Roasting Co in Auckland has won the 2022 New Zealand Cup Tasters Championship, held at L’affare Newmarket in Auckland on 15 July.
In the final round, Ewan scored eight out of eight correct cup triangulations in 2.09 minutes.
Han Lee of Meebz Coffee in Auckland placed second with seven out of eight triangulations correct in 1.44 minutes and August Hislop of Atomic Coffee Roasters in Auckland placed third with seven out of eight triangulations correct in 1.48 minutes.
Two-time Champion Alan Bruce of Flight Coffee Roasters in Wellington rounded out the final four with five out of eight triangulations correct in 2.16 minutes.
The competition saw a total of 28 cuppers, some of who joined in at the last minute.

The NZSCA’s next event will be the Meadow Fresh New Zealand Barista Championship 2022 at the Expressions Arts & Entertainment Centre from 20 to 21 August.
