The New Zealand Specialty Coffee Association (NZSCA) has announced that the 2023 Meadow Fresh New Zealand Barista Championship will be held from 25 to 26 March at Whirinaki Whare Toanga in Upper Hutt, New Zealand.
The winner will represent New Zealand at the World Barista Championship 2024, taking place 22 to 24 June in Athens, Greece.
Awards from the NZ Barista Championship will include Best Newcomer, awarded to the highest-ranking new competitor. The winner will take home $2000.
The winner of Outstanding Milk Beverage will win $500, and the People’s Choice award winner will earn bragging rights, assorted goodies, and a bar tab.
