Sam Corra, Director of Coffee for Australian specialty coffee brand Ona Coffee, is holding a masterclass on 27 October at Ditta Artigianale’s new coffee school in via Carducci, Florence.

As a guest of the Scuola del Caffè, he will be hosting an exclusive masterclass that will focus on filter extraction techniques and the preparation required for competitions.

“The event is open to anyone who wants to learn about the specialty world and learn more about the Australian reality, which in recent years has been leading the way in terms of innovation and sustainability in the coffee industry sector,” says Ditta Artigianale.

Coffees used in the World Barista Championship and the World Brewers Cup will be tasted, using either a filter method or in-cupping.

Attendees will be provided with an opportunity to learn about Ona Coffee through Sam Corra, who won the Australian Brewers Cup in 2017 and placed second in the 2018 World Championships in Budapest.

Sam Corra first met Ona Coffee’s Founder and to-be 2015 World Champion Barista, Saŝa Sestic in 2007 during his first Latte Art Championship in Australia. From there he began working at Saŝa’s café which in 2008 became Ona Coffee.

As a roaster of the 2018 World Barista Championships’ coffee, Ditta Artigianale says he played an important role in Agnieska Rojewska’s victory.

In 2020 Sam became Ona Coffee’s Director of Coffee and continues to offer unique and tailor-made experiences for consumers while working on new coffee projects.

Ona Coffee is based on its three founding values of innovation, excellence, and community, focusing its attention above all on the sustainability of the coffee industry.

Aimed at informing the public, enthusiasts and industry professionals behind a cup of coffee, Ditta Artigianale’s coffee school is working in collaboration with companies such as Hario, hotel institutes, and professional schools such as the Youth Academy of Simonelli Group, which together are providing certified training courses.

The school is led by expert and and award-winning tasters such as Francesco Sanapo, Francesco Masciullo, Simone Amenini, Michele Anedotti, and more.
