United States-based specialty coffee roaster Reviva Coffee has analysed 2024’s most viral TikTok coffee trends, with the list delivering some unexpected concoctions.

1. Cracking latte

The most viral coffee trend of 2024 according to Reviva was the cracking latte, with its highest trending videos amassing almost 50 million views. The Korean-inspired latte is encased in a shell of hard chocolate that snaps when squeezed, creating a cracking effect in the cup.

2. Coffee ice balls

In August, British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver embraced the coffee ice balls trend by sharing his trick to ensure leftover coffee doesn’t go to waste. His iced coffee hack – which keeps coffee flavourful and waste free – went mainstream on social media, with more 41 million views on TikTok.

3. Scallion (spring onion) latte

This coffee concoction divided opinions more than any other on the list. Originating in China, the combination was picked up globally for its shock factor. This trend’s top videos garnered more than 19 million views.

4. Ca Phe Muoi

The Vietnamese salted coffee Ca Phe Muoi received over 17 million views among its top trending videos in 2024. The salt is said to enhance the flavour of the coffee.

5. Kinder Bueno latte

In fifth place is the viral Kinder Bueno latte, with more than 11 million views on TikTok. The combination was reported as ‘dangerous’ by many for its creamy, moreish taste.
