MILKLAB is bringing back its Roaster Royale in 2026, with expressions of interest in the competition closing on 16 January.
Back for its third year, the winners of the competition will earn flights and accommodation to Colombia as part of a champion prize pack.
Limited to 100 participants, the brief involves roasters coming up with their own roast using supplied green beans from InterAmerican Coffee to create a brew that pairs perfectly with MILKLAB Oat milk.
Entrants must then send one kilogram of their roast using the supplied beans and their entry form prior to 20 February.
Blind judging will rate a criteria of sweetness, flavour, aftertaste, and balance with MILKLAB Oat.
The top five will then be announced and go head-to-head at the Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) in March, where a winner will be crowned.
Ratio Coffee Roasters was named the 2025 champion, finishing ahead of runner up Deanes Beans and third-place Two Before Ten, while Extraction Coffee Roasters were named the inaugural winners of the competition in 2024.
