In 2017, the Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) will welcome an all-new Brewing Lounge, an area set to showcase a myriad of alternative brewing methods from the industry’s leading roasters.

The Brewing Lounge will host the Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) Australian Brewers Cup Championship, with a secondary area for competitors to recreate their brews for competition viewers.

The Lounge will also be the setting for roasters who specialise in alternative brewing to showcase their own methods in two-hour blocks.

MICE organisers will take care of the build, equipment and machines, participants just need to look after the coffees.

“What could be better than 10,000 coffee aficionados eager to try your brew,” MICE Show Director Simon Coburn says.

“We want MICE to be inclusive of everyone in this industry, including small roasters or cafes that don’t have the staff to cover both their café and MICE, but want the opportunity to showcase their passion for alternative brew methods, and the blends they’re most proud of. Not only will participants have access to what will be one of the most popular sites at the show, but great brand awareness and exposure to a large audience of coffee lovers.”

For those wanting a dedicated space at MICE2017, the Roasters Alley could be for you.

In 2017 Roasters Alley will one again be a centrepiece at MICE, featuring a range of boutique roasters in a marketplace-style setup.

A cost-effective platform exclusively available for roasters, the Alley makes it easy and affordable to get as much coffee into as many hands as possible across three days.

MICE is the largest dedicated coffee show in the Southern Hemisphere, taking place from 30 March to 1 April 2017 at the Melbourne Showgrounds.

The event will welcome more than 120 exhibitors, featuring the latest in espresso equipment, coffee brewing devices, exotic and expensive coffee beans, roasting equipment, and more.
