Toby’s Estate Coffee Roasters has announced the Swirl Club Sydney final will be held on Thursday 20 October at its Alexandria Warehouse from 5:30pm to 9pm.

Swirl Club is a latte art smackdown competition where 12 to 16 baristas go head-to-head in a knockout format. Competing pairs are picked out at random from their polaroid photos in a hat. There’s a total of four rounds, and one dead heat round for two competitors to compete for third place.

For each pair-up, there are three dice which determine what latte art pattern the competitors will pour, along with what milk and in what vessel.

Previous first, second, and third winners will be invited back to compete amongst a limited number of wildcard competitor tickets.

Toby’s Estate will also have limited edition coffees available only at Swirl Club.

A latte art smackdown with three unique fields to duke it out over, drawn for each head-to-head match up.

The first-place prize includes a $800 MasterCard gift card, Swirl Club Coffee ‘Thug Passion’, a Swirl Club Bucket Hat, and other rewards from sponsors. The winner will also receive a one-on-one roastery tour experience, filter tasting, and in-depth talk with Toby’s Estate roasters on its approach to blending, roasting and quality. A filter bar experience inside its Chippendale Flagship location will also be offered.

The second-place winner will receive a $500 MasterCard gift card, Swirl Club Coffee ‘Thug Passion’, Swirl Club Bucket Hat and other rewards from sponsors.

The third-place winner will be awarded a $300 MasterCard gift card, Swirl Club Coffee ‘Thug Passion’, Swirl Club Bucket Hat and other rewards from sponsors.

Toby’s Estate requests competitors arrive by 4:30pm for practice and warm up sessions.
