From 1 to 22 October, Sydney specialty roaster Toby’s Estate is hosting Octobyfest Local Legends to celebrate local cafés and baristas.

Cafés registered for the three-week campaign will get customers and their local community to vote for them for the chance to be crowned the favourite café in the region and win a variety of prizes, worth a combined total of $75,000.

“We know how hard baristas and café owners work, putting in long hours and constantly smiling while dealing with last minute changes and a whole stack of other things,” she Jody Leslie, General Manger of Toby’s Estate.

“Too often these awesome legends are not recognised enough, which is why we created Octobysfest Local Legends to help shine a light on all those behind the coffee machine putting in that extra effort.”

Octobyfest winners in each state will receive a photoshoot of their café, a paid media article with social amplification, and will feature on Toby’s Estate’s social channels.

Additionally, for every vote a café receives, they will also receive an entry into the draw to win a trip to Florence, Italy, courtesy of La Marzocco. There will be prizes too for runner-up cafés in each state, thanks to Toby’s partners Chai Me, The Alternative Dairy Co., and Joco Cups.

As an incentive for customers to vote, members of the public will have the chance to win a holiday each time they vote.

Voting is open now here, with café finalists and winners crowned at the end of October.
