Australia’s Anthony Douglas of Axil Coffee Roasters has been crowned the 2022 World Barista Champion, and to celebrate, he’ll be hitting the road to share his WBC winning coffee.
The Australian tour will begin on 3 November at Distill in Adelaide before Anthony and Axil Coffee Roasters will visit Soapbox Beer Brewery in Brisbane on 8 November. Then Anthony will travel to Miss Moneypenny’s in Gold Coast on 9 November and The Soda Factory in Sydney on 14 November. The tour will finish up in Melbourne at Ms Collins on 17 November.
At each destination Anthony will be serving up his winning El Diviso coffee from 4:30 to 5:30pm. Anthony and his team will be treating Australia to the taste of the flavours of cherry, blackberry, red wine & purple grape. To complement these flavours, Anthony will be serving up his cryodesiccated milk used to win on the world stage.
Attendees can then join Anthony Douglas, Matthew Crowley and Jack Simpson from 6-7pm in a live question and answer panel that unpacks the variables, cutting-edge tools, and techniques including milk cryodesiccation, aroma discs, auto-comb and nuances that took his coffee and skills to the world stage. From 7-9:30pm the night will conclude with food, drinks and door prizes.
