Veneziano Coffee Roasters has announced it will host an Aeropress Cup Competition to raise money for the Red Cross disaster aid for Türkiye, Syria and New Zealand. The event will take place on 23 March at its Richmond roastery from 6pm to 8:30pm.

Tickets are $50 for entry for spectators and competitors, with 100 per cent of proceeds going to Red Cross. Veneziano is offering a friends and family discount; use code ‘FRIENDS23’ at the Eventbrite checkout to purchase tickets for $35.

The competition will consist of 20 competitors, five elimination rounds, and three winners. It will involve four rounds of five baristas, with the winning baristas from each round competing in the final round to decide the champion. Each round will involve 10 minutes of dialling in with the Mahlkonig X54 Allround Coffee Grinder, before competitors serve their best brew to judges.

The event includes food, drink, cupping of Veneziano’s Pinnacle coffee range, and a raffle with prizes from Brewtech, Alternative Dairy Co, Oaks Hotels, La Marzocco, Ratio chocolate, Brogans Way, Mountain Goat, Barista Supplies, and more. Prizes include a Mahlkonig X54 Allround Coffee Grinder, a one night stay for two at any Oaks Hotels in Australia or New Zealand, a 12 month Veneziano Coffee Roasters subscription and more.
