Alternative milk brand Vitasoy is on the hunt for a Chief Coffee Taster who, for one month, will be paid to drink coffee.

The winner will spend this month expanding their coffee knowledge and learning about the brand’s specialty milk portfolio, receiving $10,000, prior to tax, at the end of the period.

This number was determined by research Vitasoy conducted, which found that 30 per cent of people said they would need a minimum of $10,000 to give up coffee for a month. Of these, nearly 10 per cent said they would need $1 million to quit for a month.

The study further found that one in four Australians who were surveyed said they would accept a role titled Chief Coffee Taster.

In honour of these findings and to celebrate Vitasoy’s launch of its reformulated Barista’s Almond Milk, Vitasoy wanted to create a position to find the biggest “coffee nut” our there while paying them to further perfect the coffee formula.

Vitasoy’s Chief Coffee Taster will be invited to visit the brand’s Wodonga lab to taste its specialty milk portfolio, including experimenting with the new reformulated Almond Milk. Accommodation and economy flights from any capital city will be paid for, with exclusive merchandise also supplied.

Matt Lewin, 2019 Australian Barista Champion will be present to teach all things coffee, providing the winner with full exposure and knowledge to some of the greatest innovations in coffee.

Vitasoy says it is looking for a coffee aficionado who cares about the quality of their coffee, has “a keep cup for every mood” and whose veins are filled with coffee.

Nick Bartram, Marketing and Strategy Director of Vitasoy Australia says, “We are expecting a lot of fantastic applications for our exciting Chief Coffee Taster role and we can’t wait to discover Australia’s Biggest Coffee Nut. Perfectly timed with our new reformulated Vitasoy Cafe for Baristas Almond Milk there’s a great vehicle for coffee connoisseurs to show us just how talented they are.”

Application close 12 August 2021.
