Brownes Dairy has become the first Australian dairy company to set up manufacturing operations in the United Kingdom (UK) with the acquisition of a new site to boost production of its Hunt and Brew RTD coffee.
Located west of London, the acquisition of the factory has been made to meet rising demand for its product in UK supermarkets.
The Hunt and Brew product was launched in Brownes’ home Australian market in the 2010s, and expanded its reach to the UK in late 2024.
Brownes Dairy CEO Natalie Sarich-Dayton says Hunt and Brew is “flying the flag” for Australian products finding success in international markets.
“This is a watershed moment for Brownes Dairy and a powerful vote of confidence in the Hunt and Brew brand,” she says.
“We are incredibly proud to be flying the flag for Australian dairy, combining our coffee expertise with fresh British milk to create a product that is truly unique.”
In a company statement, Hunt and Brew has heralded the acquisition of the Hungerford site as “a major step in [its] UK growth” and “bringing true Aussie innovation to the ready-to-drink coffee and dairy beverage space in the UK”.
The brand is also reportedly preparing to introduce a range of the RTD coffee made with Australian-grown beans in the UK.
It has previously used Australian-grown beans in its products, launching a cold brew to its Australian market in 2022.
“We’re thrilled to be the first to bring Australian specialty coffee to the UK on a mass scale,” says Natalie.
“We’re not just launching another iced coffee; we’re setting the standard for what consumers should expect from the category.”
