The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) has announced that for the first time, its World of Coffee trade show will take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Middle East from 12 to 14 January 2022.

This will run in addition to the European World of Coffee trade show that is scheduled from June 23 to 25 2022 in Poland.

This follows the SCA’s 2018 announcement to partner with the Dubai World Trade Centre (DXB Live) and volunteer leaders of the SCA UAE Chapter to launch the World of Coffee Dubai (WOC Dubai) trade show. This was originally scheduled for the beginning of March 2020.

“World of Coffee Dubai builds on the legacy of the SCA’s long-running World of Coffee trade show, a commercial event travelling to a different European city since 2006,” says the Specialty Coffee Association.

The premium coffee show is set to attract coffee producers, manufacturers, retailers, traders, baristas, roasters, and the broader industry from across the UAE.

According to the SCA, the WOC Dubai is designed to meet the specific needs and interests of the region’s coffee communities and is tailored for the UAE’s coffee businesses and those who wish to break into the Middle East’s emerging coffee industry.

According to Euromonitor, the Middle East and North Africa have been the fastest-growing coffee market globally since 2015 and promise further growth over the next decade. The Middle East and Africa represent a coffee market of over US$16 billion, making it one of the biggest emerging specialty coffee markets globally.

The WOC Dubai will take place within the 2020 World Expo, a world fair being hosted in the UAE from October 2021 to March 2022.

Visitors who wish to attend World of Coffee Dubai are encouraged to purchase a ticket to the 2020 World Expo to take part in the many features of World of Coffee Dubai.

Features include a show floor focused entirely on exhibitors and delegates from the specialty coffee and tea industry, a Roasters Village, a Brew and Espresso Bar, a Cupping Corner, alongside Coffee Design Awards, a Best New Product Competition and Display.

Educational events such as SCA Lectures and Training and an SCA Lounge and Store will also be available.
