StreetSmart Australia has delayed its annual CafeSmart campaign from August to October 2020. In the meantime, the charity organisation wants to help drive customers to the CafeSmart family.

StreetSmart says from bushfires to COVID-19, 2020 has been a difficult year for cafés.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, it’s been working closely with the hospitality industry through its SmartMeals program providing meals for people in need, and the TipJar-Australian Hospitality Fund, dedicated to supporting struggling venue staff.

Now that restrictions are easing, StreetSmart wants to help get customers back into cafés by encouraging everyone to choose to support a CafeSmart café.

The Drink Coffee & Help Your Hood campaign will include:

  • From 13 July, StreetSmart is launching a week-long social media campaign to get people to support their local CafeSmart café
  • Participating cafés being featured on an interactive map
  • StreetSmart providing cafés with suggested social media content and pictures to share to drive excitement on their own pages
