Mahlkönig and La Marzocco have launched The Sync System, new technology that enables  the companies’ products to talk to each other and make automatic updates.

The Sync System, exclusive to the Australian and United States markets, syncs Mahlkönig’s Grind-by-Sync espresso grinders E65W GbS and E80W GbS with La Marzocco espresso machines.

The machines are said to sync seamlessly through IoT data, allowing the barista to set their recipe with precision by inputting coffee dose weight, shot time, and espresso yield by weight or volume. As shots pull, the espresso machine feeds shot-time feedback to the grinder, which tweaks the burr distance using a motor and sensor for higher accuracy.

According to the companies, the result is faster dialling in and consistency under pressure.

“Built around Mahlkönig’s Grind-by-Weight technology and La Marzocco’s precise scales and volumetrics, The Sync System frees up baristas to focus on what matters most: engaging with customers and crafting exceptional coffee without mid-shift grind-size worries,” Mahlkönig said in a statement.

Mahlkönig is providing a range of educational materials including product sheets, FAQs, presentations, and info on machine compatibility – all available for download in the Marketing Archive. (Path: 04_Mahlkönig > Products > E65W GbS or E80W GbS).

On 21 November 2024, the company is hosting a Hemro Academy session entitled ‘The New Grind-by-Weight Generation with Sync Capabilities: E65W GbS’.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for you to deepen your understanding of its features and benefits,” the company said. “Plus, you’ll have the chance to ask questions directly to the experts.”
