Global beverage company, Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group (MZBG) has completed the acquisition of Australian coffee group The Bean Alliance for $24 million.

Together with MZBG, The Bean Alliance has become Bean Alliance Group (B.A. Group).

MZBG, the parent company of Segafredo investment in the B.A. Group, will work to leverage the joint expertise with expansion into the Asia Pacific region.

B.A. Group says this merger will have little impact on its local leadership, infrastructure and operations. Business will be conducted as usual at the coffee roaster in Reservoir, Victoria.

Since 2014, the B.A. Group has been roasting Segafredo Zanetti Coffee, working alongside the Segafredo team to replace previously imported product with locally roasted coffee.

MZBG manages production, processing and marketing of roasted coffee distributed in around 110 countries. It operates 20 facilities across Europe, Asia and the Americas, and through a global network of about 400 coffee shops in 50 countries.

Established in 1981, B.A. Group is a multi-award-winning company for being one of the first to roast certified organic coffee. Having been active in the Australian market for 35 years, B.A. Group creates premium brands in the local roasted growing channel.
