Riverina Fresh’s Lactose Free Milk has been named Grand Champion at the Australian Grand Dairy Awards.

Products are only eligible to enter if they are made with 100 per cent Australian dairy and are gold-medal winners from state competitions. This victory marks the first time a lactose free milk has been named Grand Champion in the 27-year history of the event.

Products are judged by expert panels on flavour, aroma, texture, body, and appearance, with the Grand Champion awarded to what the panel sees as the single best dairy product in Australia.

Executive Chairman of Riverina Fresh Craig Shapiro says the award represents the quality of everyone in the company’s value chain, from farmers to retail.

“Winning the Grand Champion Dairy Award is a proud moment for Riverina Fresh and our entire team, and our dedicated dairy farmers,” says Craig. “This is the ultimate accolade in the Australian dairy industry and reflects our commitment to producing premium quality milk.

“It is our farmers’ unwavering dedication and passion for producing high quality milk that makes this achievement possible, for which we are very grateful.

“The future of the dairy industry is bright, particularly as consumers continue to recognise the enduring benefits of using fresh, natural products every day.

“The Riverina Fresh team remain passionate about their ongoing contribution to a sustainable Australian dairy industry.”

Riverina Fresh’s Lactose Free Milk was also named the Champion Modified Milk.

Dairy Australia Head of Marketing Glenys Zucco praised the quality of Australia’s entire dairy industry, and the awards’ ability to spotlight industry leaders in the space.

“With champions from every state, the Australian Grand Dairy Awards truly reflect the rich diversity and talent across our country,” she says.

“This year’s record-breaking 471 entries – from family-run farms to innovative producers – showcase just how world-class our industry is. Consumers are seeking excellence, and they’re finding it in Australian dairy.

“By celebrating these achievements, we’re inviting Australians to explore the very best our nation has to offer – exceptional dairy products crafted with care, creativity, and uncompromising quality.”
